HSC Emergency App, created by TTUHSC ( Texas Tech UniversityHealthSciences Center), helps in providing vital information on howtorecognize an emergency situation and what one can do if itoccurs.The homepage is broken down into two sections. The firstsectionlists the emergency situations which when clicked willfurtherprovide directions on how to deal with them. Eachemergencysituation has a page associated with it. This page hasdirectionson what can be done when a person is caught in such anemergency.The emergencies that we address at this point are ACTIVESHOOTER,FIRE, and TORNADO. The second section is for listing phonenumberswhich can used in emergency as well as non-emergencysituations.Phone numbers are tailored by each Texas Tech UniversityHealthSciences Center (TTUHSC) campus. If location services areenabledon your phone and if location permission is given to theapp, theapplication can figure out which campus you are currentlyat andshow phone numbers pertaining to that campus only. Thisincludesall the TTUHSC campuses viz. ABILENE, AMARILLO, DALLAS,LUBBOCK,MIDLAND, ODESSA. On clicking a phone number, the app willtake theuser to the keypad on the phone with the numbers alreadyfilled in.
